Loving Life

Why Not Savor Your Life?

Loving Your Body Back to Life

How can you savor your life when your body is hurting? When your mind is spinning with various difficulties? How do you savor your life?

First of all, realize that you have a relationship with your body. Did you ever stop to think that your body may not like you? This may be a tough concept that you had never considered. But you do have a relationship with your body. If you ignore, criticize, or push your body too hard, it's not going to feel good, and it's not going to cooperate with you. Your body responds to how you treat it.

So the first step is to notice what you're doing that might make your body unhappy. Are you resting enough? Are you listening to what it needs? Are you speaking kindly to it, or only judging it?

The goal isn't perfection. It's partnership. You want to get back to a place where you love your body, and your body feels that love.

How do you do that?

You Can Do This

You can do this in the same way you calm a busy mind: with practice. Practices are here for that purpose. You may not like to hear this, but you are the cause of your spinning mind. You created that. But the good news is, because you created that, you can create it in a different way now. And there are practices here for doing that.

Let's imagine what happens when you apply these practices to the point where you are loving your body and your body responds to that. Things begin to shift. You feel better. You trust yourself more. And the very, very good news is it's not impossible. You can do this as long as you have the desire, a strong desire, to do this and are willing to follow the practices.

Choose a Peaceful Life

Every moment, you're shaping your body with your beliefs and attention. So ask yourself: what story are you telling about your body? And is that the story you want to keep living?

You can change those old patterns more easily than you think. As you practice, you realize that your wellbeing isn't something outside of you. It's something you build from the inside out.

And that's what I call Endless Inner Satisfaction: a peaceful life, where your body, mind, and heart work together as allies.
